Spring is budding out all over! No matter how many years go by, each time that first little sunshiney yellow daffodil peeks it’s ruffled head toward the sky it is a source of wonderment. Mother Nature shakes off the cold boughs of winter and paints the landscape vibrantly to wake up the earth. Thoughts turn toward azaleas, bunnies, Passover, Easter, and of course – Confetti Bread!

Always a special treat, whether for breakfast or dessert, it yields the rainbow colors of springtime within its yeasty layers, an Easter morning tradition at our home! A bread machine makes it easy to make a few extra loaves to be shared with family and friends.

Confetti Bread Recipe for Bread Machine

Ingredients

  • 1 pack quick rise yeast
  • 3 cups Better for Bread flour
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup colored candy sprinkles

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in the order listed and select white bread mode
  • After manual mode stops, add the sprinkles
  • Bake until end of cycle and enjoy!
  • Delicious when served with honey butter
